STRONG WOMEN STRONG GIRLS
Strong Women, Strong Girls
Strong Women Strong Girls (SWSG) is a nationally recognized mentoring program started in Boston in 2004 and expanded to Pittsburgh in 2006. SWSG is committed to providing undergraduate women on college campuses with opportunities to gain the skills and experiences necessary to become life-long agents for positive change in their communities. The program provides college women the opportunity to mentor low-income, at-risk and minority girls in grades 3-5. The mission of SWSG is to build upon the lessons learned by strong women throughout history to raise the aspirations and self-esteem of elementary school age girls.
