RESIDENT ASSISTANTS
Resident Assistants
Resident Assistants (R.A.s) are upper division students who play a pivotal role in Residence Life.
The R.A.’s primary role is to create a positive sense of community and a supportive academic environment in his/her residence hall. R.A.s also identify unique hall/suite and building needs and continually make concerted efforts to address and meet these needs. In addition to community development, R.A.s are responsible for providing opportunities for life skills development in their residence halls and encouraging students to participate in these opportunities. R.A.’s also provide personal advisement and referral of residents as needed. R.A.s also confront and document inappropriate behavior in the residence areas in the interest of maintaining safety and security in the residential community.
