Association for Operations Management
APICS is an international organization that focuses on supply chain and operations management. At Robert Morris our student chapter is open to everyone of any major though those in business and engineering may find these topics very relevant for their future careers.
As a student chapter we are supported by the APICS Pittsburgh Chapter, and attend monthly Pittsburgh Chapter Professional Development meetings. These meetings not only provide a chance to see behind of the scenes of local businesses and companies, but provide a chance to meet local leaders in the supply chain and operations management industries. In 2014, RMU APICS toured Kennywood, the Pittsburgh International Airport, and other facilities!
We also have our own events, the most recent include seeing how the Island Sports Center is operated and going to Pirates Game to celebrate the end of the year. Plans are always underway for new events!
Our goal is to give any and all students a chance to see how businesses are run and to listen to what students are interested in and mold club activities to match those interests.
