Robert Morris University, in accordance with Pennsylvania law, adheres to a "Zero Tolerance" policy for underage (21) drinking. If you are over 21 and choose to drink, do so responsibly.

When a person's use of alcohol interferes with physical, social, or economic functioning, then alcohol abuse or dependence is present. It’s time to get help.

Symptoms of Alcohol Consumption 
  • Depression or unhappiness
  • Drinking in order to cope with personal problems
  • Isolating self from family and friends
  • Loss of interest in activities which were once of interest
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Poor judgment
  • Mood fluctuations
  • Developing health problems
  • Experiencing blackouts
  • Not fulfilling promises or obligations
  • Participating in high-risk/dangerous activities



Signs of Alcohol Poisoning

 Know the Signs  Know What to Do
 If a person is conscious and vomiting:
  •  Prevent choking
  •  Prevent drowning in toilet
  •  Stay with victim
  •  Talk to victim
 If a person is  passed out or unconscious:
  •  Talk to the victim to keep them awake
  • If victim is lying down, roll victim on his/her left side to prevent choking from vomiting
  • Call Public Safety at ext 2424 to report alcohol overdose
 If a person is not breathing:
  •  Call Public Safety at ext 2424 to report alcohol overdose
  • Check pulse - perform rescue breathing (if trained)
 If a person cannot be awakened, has bluish lips, is cold, clammy, and pale:
  •  Call Public Safety at ext 2424 to report alcohol overdose
  • Check pulse - perform rescue breathing (if trained)
  • If no pulse, perform CPR (if trained)
