The men's club lacrosse team was established in 2009-10 and currently competes as a member of the Three Rivers Conference within the National College Lacrosse League (NCLL) Division 2. League members include Slippery Rock, Frostburg State, IUP, Cal U of PA, Edinboro, PS Altoona, PS Behrend, and Pitt-Johnstown.
Lacrosse is one of, if not the fastest growing team sport in the US. It contains the physical hitting of football, the speed and quickness of hockey, and the passing and shooting ability of basketball. Anybody can play this game, from the undersized athlete with speed and cleverness, to the bigger individual who has strength and power. Once you pick up a stick, it is hard to put down.
Anyone that is interested in playing is invited to do so. No prior lacrosse knowledge is required to be part of the team. Contacts for club lacrosse can be found through the team’s website, as well as information on games, practices and the players.
